Boutique culinary school Culinary Institute of Aristocrat (CIA) is now accepting enrollees for its 2-month program on the Fundamentals of Professional Cooking. Classes which will start on March 14, 2013, and scheduled at2:00 to 7:00 p.m., from Thursday to Saturday.

The Institute is holding a Cooking Demo by the Culinary Institute of Aristocrat program chairperson and Chef on Parade 2013’s competition and judging committee chair Chef Jose Gabriel “Gab” Prats on Sunday, March 10, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at The Aristocrat Restaurant Roxas Branch. The CIA is also inviting everyone to its OPEN HOUSE also on March 10, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Backed by 75 years of culinary experience, the institute is the only culinary school in the country that is currently in full academic partnership with an esteemed culinary academy in the south of France, Cap d’Agde GASTRONOMICOM.

In an overwhelming party filled with a generous outpouring of its mouthwatering cuisine, Filipino icon The Aristocrat launched its new look and cool ambience.  Numerous relatives and friends joined in celebrating the 100^th Wedding Anniversary of founders Alex and Asiang Reyes.

Leading the ceremonial ribbon cutting were Manila Representative Amado Bagatsing and Martinez Leyba, Inc. president Vicente Fernandez (4^th and 5^th from Left).  Also present were (From Left) Education Secretary Armin Luistro, former senator Ramon “Jun” Magsaysay, Jr., The Aristocrat president Priscila R. Pacheco and Commission on Filipinos Overseas executive director Undersecretary Mary Grace Ampil-Tirona.

The evening program was highlighted by a cultural and historical retrospective fashion show starring different generations of the Reyes family as well as the lively dance music provided by the Rocking ‘60s band.

Kicking off its 76^th year, Philippine culinary icon The Aristocrat unveils its new look and fresh vibe in the grand launch and re-opening of one of the Filipinos’ most loved restaurants timed with the commemoration of its founders Alex and Asiang Reyes’ 100^th Wedding Anniversary.

The Aristocrat Restaurant is a Filipino-owned family corporation founded by the late Doña Engracia “Aling Asiang” Cruz-Reyes and her husband, Justice Alex A. Reyes. Aling Asiang’s pioneering spirit coupled with her native genius for cooking Filipino food, raised the once lowly and unknown Filipino dishes to well loved and accepted locally and internationally. From its humble beginning as a snack mobile in 1936, the Aristocrat has grown into a restaurant enterprise with branches in Metro Manila and some provinces in Luzon, all serving the same quality foods that have made it “The Philippines’ Most Popular Restaurant”.

Company President Mrs. Priscila Reyes Pacheco shares the inspiration behind the restaurant’s rebirth, “As we culminated The Aristocrat’s Diamond year, the fourth generation of Reyeses got together and agreed that the restaurant needed to undergo some relevant changes in order for it to continue its position as a renowned icon,” says Mrs. Pacheco, “We had to come up with a fresh approach that would not only keep our loyal patrons but to attract their younger generations as well”.

With this new direction in mind, former Philippine Institute of Interior Designers president Jiro Estaniel was elated to be given this unique task “I was proud to be chosen to redesign an Icon.  More than the project at hand, I treated this as a personal milestone because the restaurant was very much a part of my college years”.

“My design inspiration came from the legacy of the restaurant itself.  I wanted to bridge the past and the present—in the way The Aristocrat has been serving its customers the past 75 years, what patrons have been used to, how they enjoy their food.   I wanted my design to be attuned to the restaurant’s purpose,” said Estaniel.

The newly renovated restaurant features bright colors, with spacious and airy ambience to complement its well-known casual dining.  Natural lighting is enhanced with the glass surroundings, which also enables passersby to see how the diners are enjoying and be enticed to try the mouthwatering food that have made The Aristocrat popular all these years.

In addition to the coming holiday season, another reason to be excited about is the re-opening of the place where Filipinos can once again experience many joyful memories and milestones while partaking Food Fit for Royalty, none other than at The Aristocrat!

Filipino culinary icon The Aristocrat Restaurant recently hosted the Miss Earth 2012 delegates to its renowned and well-loved local cuisine.

The Eco-Beauties savored The Aristocrat’s signature Chicken Barbecue with Java Rice as well as the rest of its mouthwatering dishes.  Restaurant guests were also thrilled to interact with the lovely ladies of Miss Earth.

Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant dedicated to the promotion of environmental awareness.  Now on its 12^th year, Miss Earth is one of the four largest beauty pageants in the world in terms of the number of national-level competitions that take place to participate in the world finals.
